Today we have a guest project from The Blue Closet! Blue Closet is a children’s fashion blog that’s all about practical fashion, while embracing your child’s personality and preferences (Cassaundra’s son wore only the color blue for two years! Hence, the name of her site.) Blue Closet is the perfect blend of inspiration and easy solutions.
We love this project, seen first at The Alison Show and and adapted for a smaller crowd! Cassaundra smartly uses a super soft felt, kids are usually pretty picky about things that are itchy! Get the collar template right here at the Alison Show’s Post.
Here’s what Cassaundra did:
Once you’ve cut out your collar template, you’ll need to affix the ribbons to the sides for a way to tie the collar on. You can sew them on, or hot glue, depending on your preference.
Then using studs (you can buy them at most craft stores or really cheaply online at Studs & Spikes. You’ll simply puncture the felt with the prongs and then using a strong piece of plastic, bend the prongs inward and tighten flat.
We love Cassaundra’s mix of hard and oft materials. Studs, pearls, rhinestones and buttons all make for a piece that will wow, and that hot pink felt is sure to make any girly girl swoon.
And in true Blue Closet form, here’s how to wear it!
Not feeling crafty today? No problem, here is another darling choice by Wunway, one of Cassaundra’s favorite new lines!
