Taking the boys fishing has been on our Summer to-do list and look at us pulling through in the Eleventh Hour!
There are actually a few fisheries nearby, this one in particular was a hit with its sandy “beaches” and families of ducks and ducklings waddling around. Dash’s tank top was perfect for the occasion, find it here.
With a couple poles, a can of bait, a net for back up, the boys waited patiently for awhile before they found other things to catch like floating moss and puddles to splash in!
It was such a serene evening and it seemed that the sky put on an extra impressive show for us with an amazing sunset.
Lots of fisheries have gear to rent, but lucky for these boys their dads love to fish and had the goods on hand.
We loved watching the boys run and splash around in their Joules Wellies. Joules is a fun-loving UK brand of wellies and welliebobs (ankle boots for those in the know) founded by Tom Joule over three decades ago. We loved their charming “About Joules” interactive story that explains that although Country Folk need sturdy work boots, they are also colorful people. Tom started out by making one hundred hot pink wellies and they sold out fast! We loved this: “We keep looking to the Countryside and all of its eccentricities to inspire us, and we always will be.” Check out their awesome selection of printed wellies at their site here.
