FRYday : Jenna

Hip Hip for FRYDAY!! I’m particularly happy about this one because today my husband comes home after another ten days gone on business.  We (I) like to joke that all is well when he leaves, everything falls apart when he’s gone, and I manage to pick up the pieces right before he gets home so all is fixed and well again up on his return! I spend a lot of time fixing. Fixing kid’s hair, messes, food, beds, arguments over toys, etc. Though I admit, I spend the majority of my time trying to fix things in my life that don’t need fixing. So I’m learning that, yeah sure it might not look, be, feel perfect, but it isn’t broken, and I can be okay with that. jennafryday

Like that one favorite skirt that you continually mend over and over because the seam gets torn in a particular spot every time. I’m never going to throw the skirt away, but I’ll spend time patiently mending the thread each time it comes undone. I wish I could be as patient with myself and my relationships as I am with that seam.

I loved this excerpt from our Small Fry Book Club Selection, “Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” I am all about finding this for myself this week.
