spider-man party

Today we have a whole party focused on our favorite Superhero, Spider-Man! From the decor, to the activities, to the party attire, it’s all for Spidey and our boys couldn’t have been more excited. The best part about this party is that everything was found at Target and put together in only a couple hours! Here’s how we did it:
Spiderman PartyDECOR: For stress-free parties we love to have just one festive party table. Instead of worrying about decking every hall and nook and cranny with your party theme, a party table adds just enough festivity and is so much easier to execute and focus on details. We used our friend Kayti of the Be{you}ty Bureau‘s awesome cardboard skyscrapers for the backdrop and added Target’s striped flag banner to the front.

Spiderman PartyCAKE: We found a local bakery who will make a simple white 8-inch cake for only $12.99. It comes frosted and ready to decorate and is always delicious. Decorating the cake is the fun part so we love this short-cut. For this cake we found a little Spider-Man notebook and pencil kit in Target‘s Dollar Spot, so we cut out this figure from the notebook, taped a little bit of string to the back and tied the string to two striped party straws! Stick the straws right into the cake and you’re all set. Then to extend your theme all the way down to your cake plate, we cut out web shapes out of paper to layer beneath the plate.

Spiderman PartyInstead of paper plates and cups we opted for the sturdier plastic versions. Kids tend to dump, spill, tip, and mangle the paper so we gave plastic a try. Guess what? No spills!

Spiderman PartyWe had the boys wear any Spider-Man apparel they had – Masks and caps galore!

Spiderman PartyKeeping the party as stress-free as possible, we didn’t worry about feeding them a meal, but instead had easy kid-friendly snacks like popcorn and apple juice on hand.

Spiderman PartyDETAILS: We are obsessed with these chalkboard party hats, use a chalkboard pen to personalize them and re-use for just about any party! We added spider webs and wrote the boys’ names this time around.

Spiderman PartySpiderman PartyWe used Spider-man themed wrapping paper and party bags to add to the festivity, and quickly cut up confetti in the party colors to decorate the table with.

Spiderman PartyPLAY: We kept the activities pretty simple. First, using Dana Made It‘s giant spider web tutorial, we created a giant red web that not only doubled as a party game but also created another element of decor! Then we stuck little party favors in the web, tattoos, treats, and other lightweight items and gave the boys each a can of silly string. Then we let them shoot their targets until they fell out of the web for them to retrieve. Like a silly string pinata! Even though this is a stress-free party, no one can avoid clean-up, so we just tried to embrace the mess. Luckily it all cleaned up no problem!

Yarn Web Game | Spiderman PartyEveryone picked a temporary tattoo they loved and then we had a quick little tattoo applying session. The boys got SO excited about this, the urgency to get those tattoos on was frantic and they still show everyone they see how cool their Spider-Man tattoo is!
