vitamed MD [giveaway!]

Today’s post is brought to you by vitaMedMD: Health & Wellness for Women of all stages.

We don’t get to talk about babies and pregnancy as much as we’d like, all our littlest boys are two and rounding three now, which is crazy! We’re all in different stages of building our families, but one thing we can all agree on: love it or leave it, pregnancy is one giant and crazy miracle that we feel really blessed to have experienced and hopefully to experience again! For those of you preparing or in the throes of pregnancy, we wanted to share some of our memories of those days and also toss in an awesome giveaway valued at $210 for you from vitaMedMD!VitaMed MD

JENNA on MORNING (ALL DAY SICKNESS):

New Baby Love

I remember when I had my first miscarriage and struggled to get pregnant and I would see Facebook statuses complaining about pregnancy and I swore I would NEVER complain. Then I got pregnant! And woah the illness hit me like a ton of bricks. We aren’t talking car sick, we are talking I wanna die sick! That was really shocking and unexpected for me. I had no idea how challenging and dark those days would be. And every day was a fight for me to keep my food down and my spirits up. I always say that pregnancy, miscarriage, infertility is all a very solitary experience. At least it feels that war for me. No one can do it for me, no one can endure it for me and no one can feel the loss like me. But in that same breath comes a special and private connection with these little people we fight for, cry for, go through pain for. It’s through that challenge that I’ve found my greatest joy.

NICOLE ON BONDING:New Baby Love

Some of my very fondest memories of the new momma life lie in those quiet wee hours of the night, sleep deprived beyond imagination, staring down at a nursing baby. I remember feeling like nothing in the world could make me happier. In those moments I was the only one that baby needed, the only one that could pacify. These moments have been incredible with both my babies and have formed such a bond for us. I feel super lucky that my kids enjoyed it just as much as I did. They were devout nursers. I know this isn’t always the case with babies. And I’m sure at some point I’ll have one of those little independent types. But I hope I can find something for me and that precious new human to do that can create that connection that I feel so lucky to have with Dash and Sunny.

EMILY ON THE POST-PARTUM BODY & SOUL:

New Baby Love

I’m a six months of puking type of pregnant girl. That quickly turns into three more months of crazy heart-burn and intense hip dysplasia. I have so many pity parties through my pregnancy that are usually accompanied by eating whatever the heck I want. I earned this whole sleeve of Oreos, dang it! Needless to say, I gain more weight than my doctors and nurses would like. Even going three weeks early with both boys! At first I stared down at my pool of post-partum stretchy soft belly and would get instantly overwhelmed. But then one day I studied my new baby and pictured all my body accomplished, creating those eyelashes, those fingernails, all the veins and arteries and heart-pumping. That came from me! What an incredible miracle. I made this perfect thing, and I am going to give myself a break as I find my way back.

  1. When I am pregnant I have to have a body pillow or multiple pillows. As far as food goes I love green salad, cheese, bread items, and chocolate. I’m a weirdo:)

  2. I’m right in the middle of this right now at 3 weeks postpartum. Thanks for the encouragement! I definitely need to remember to give myself a break as we find our new normal.

  3. Coconut oil for my dry skin and belly, la croix soda water (every flavor but coconut funny enough), ice cream, and roasted vegetable salads.
I was just discussing my post partum body with a girlfriend. I’m 18 weeks post partum and constantly have to remind myself that I just made a person, and it will take a while to bounce back from that. But I still have to remind myself of that everyday.

  4. I am 6 weeks postpartum, so this couldn’t have come at a better time! I needed you girls cheering me on! My essentials are my bumpnest pillow and a loaded DVR. Rest, Rest, Rest!

  5. My pregnancy must have is a positive attitude and journal for the baby. I write in the journal once I find out the gender and stay connected through writing my feelings about pregnancy and experience. I think the journal helps keep the positive vibes because I am constantly reminded at what a blessing it is to be pregnant. Going on week 13 today and this giveaway couldn’t come at a better time! My prenatals make me super nauseous so having new ones would be awesome!

    1. SKWEBB,
Call our vitaCare line at: 800-350-3819. They will set you up with a prenatal vitamin right for you. Our vitaPearl or RediChew Rx may work perfectly. Hope this helps!

  6. I relied on so many things during my pregnancies that I don’t know what to pick. I could not live without my hydrating lotion because my belly was so itchy from stretching and I was living in my maxi dresses!

    1. Carley, call vitaCare and they will set you up with a prenatal that is perfect for you! vitaPearl is great because it is tiny, has DHA, and 40% more folic acid than the leading Rx prenatal. Hope you win!
      Call: 800-350-3819

  7. Besides a strong will, a sense of humor and a good partner my pregnancy must have was my tablet. I could play games, keep on social media, take pictures, write and read blogs, google all my fears, order all my other necessities, watch movies and shows and I could do it all from anywhere. Saved my life.

  8. Tums, a body pillow, and the “most unsexy grandma” stretchy pajama/yoga capris I bought at Costco literally 10 years ago. Nothing fits my body thoughout pregnancy like them, it’s true love. (Nickname courtesy of my otherwise-extremely-supportive-husband haha)

  9. Belli skincare was a must for me, I was very sensitive to smells and I felt safe using their products…. Another was the pregnancy vitamin funnies, the others made me feel horrible.

  10. My helpful hubby 😉 He is awesome to make dinner, clean the bathroom, fold all the laundry, grocery shop and rub my feet when I am WAY too tired to do any of that!

  11. Pregnancy must haves? Journal. So many emotions- so nice to jot them down and see how I felt during the stages.
