doctor on demand

As three self-employed families here at Small Fry, health care can be a touchy subject. Coverage, premiums, co-pays, self pay, all of these are hot button phrases around here, so when we heard about Doctor on Demand we were instantly intrigued and ready to try it out! Essentially, Doctor on Demand gives you access to licensed physicians, psychologists, pediatric care, lactation specialists and more, from the comfort of your own home, or even better when you’re on the go, out of town, or too sick or unable to make it to a doctor’s office. We gave it a whirl and here’s how it went down:Doc On Demand

Access Doctor on Demand with their free app, either on your phone or tablet. Choose the type of professional you need to speak with based on the question you have. Medical, Psychology, Pediatrics or Pregnancy and Newborn care. You fill out a series of questions just about your health and symptoms, then you get connected right away to a licensed specialist in your requested area of expertise. The first visit is free – just enter “SMALLFRY50” as your coupon, but these types of visits would normally cost around $40. Even if you don’t need to use the service right away you can apply the coupon to your account and redeem when needed! Now, if you’re self-pay like we all are, this saves us hundreds of dollars! Even for those with insurance are likely to pay more for their co-pay than Doctor on Demand’s fees.

Doc On DemandOne of the best parts is that if needed you can also get prescribed medication right over the phone. When we have sick kids or are sick ourselves, getting everyone ready to go to a doctor’s visit can feel nearly impossible. This couldn’t have been easier! Doc On DemandWe had Emily call, she had questions and concerns about some unresolved symptoms from her miscarriage a couple months ago and she felt assured and calm and was given several options and ideas and next steps. We knew we had to bring this service to you Small Fry readers, we know that you will love it!
