Favorite Finds 2016: Emily

Part of the fun of this job is being able to try out all kinds of new product and gear for both ourselves and our kids! So for our first week of 2017 we wanted to revisit those favorites, we’ll go in the same order as our Year Recap posts, Emily is first!

It was so great for me to add our personal tabs on Small Fry this year! I hate like to know it personally so I wasn’t willing to share that way, but my tab is something I feel totally comfortable with and hopefully makes it easier on you guys who have questions! Your favorites from there were these jeans, these sneakers and this vacuum (?) haha!img_8276-700x933 2016 was pregnancy, new baby life and revisiting those parts of motherhood that I haven’t experienced for five+ years! SO much has changed since I had Cal, but here’s what I’ve used this year that I can’t live without!

FOR BABY

Nose Frida is an absolute must have for any parent. It’s not even sort of gross, I promise. Windi another must if you have a gassy baby! It even helped with some constipation. I’ve tried several brands and systems and I will never go back from Uppa. I use this stroller system and this car seat and it is the best. Its middle of the road expensive but I am totally fine in investing a bit when I know how cheaper alternatives handle. Chicco Natural Fit Bottles, Ergo Carrier, and Mustela. I have lost count of how many people have said Raleigh is the best smelling baby. He gets sniffed daily. screen-shot-2017-01-04-at-8-49-45-amThese bibs, this play chair. Oh man this play chair, its by far the cutest/most modern style and Raleigh LOVES it. This dream blanket which is the perfect size for my big boy and so so soft. I love the Shibori pattern, too!ancc_2451

FOR ME

Post pregnancy I LIVED in this nursing tank. It’s so beautiful and feminine and the tank is made of like soft steel or something, it holds all those loose bits in nice and tight! Now that I’m 6 months post-partum and Raleigh is eating solids and easier to pass off to Russ, I am really focusing hard on getting some of my endurance and strength back and these shiny high waisted work out pants are my favorite ever, ever. Russ HATES these shoes, but I love the high ankle and they’ve got great cushion. Perfect gym shoe and I love the higher ankle shaft.

I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect brown boot to fit my style and it took several months, but I LOVE these. Brown boots (in my opinion) are either too western, or too plain and these have that edge I love while still being simple. I bought them in black last year as well and can wear them for 10+ hours without a problem. Platforms for the win!

I feel like I fine-tuned my beauty routine this year as well, my skin has never looked/felt better! You can read the whole thing in depth here, but if I had to choose the MVPs it would be this oil cleanser and this moisturizer and this dry shampoo paste! Thanks to The Beyouty Bureau for the first two!!

You already know how I feel about Amazon Echo, I’ve also embraced Audible and finally listened to Daring Greatly. The narrator drove me crazy at first, but the lessons I learned in that book changed my year (life?) completely. Mostly that the amount of blessing that God has in store for me is not finite, and just because things are going well it doesn’t mean something terrible is around the corner. Anyone else have that way of thinking? I learned (or at least finally absorbed, I am sure I’ve been told one billion times) to express gratitude in those moments I would typically be wondering when the other shoe was going to drop. It’s actually been an easy switch for me and soooo good for my anxiousness!

FOR THE BOYS

Penny Boards, this three string guitar, this piano book for at home learning, these snow boots which are lightweight but still hardy! My boys hate dealing with recess and their heavy boots so these get worn the most around here!

[…] READING: Since my last Fryday — A Man Called Ove (so sweet and charming and reminded me of my husband and his brother) and also Where’d You Go Bernadette? I know it’s old news, but I love love LOVED it. I also read Daring Greatly which I talked about in my end of year wrap-up, but it changed my life. You can read why here. […]
