platforms 4 ways

Platforms are always a fun bet, but especially this Spring. They’re EVERYWHERE!! Channeling the Clueless and Spice Girls era which I was a little too young and rolled-ankle-prone to capitalize on the first time around.

Here are a bunch of favorites:

But here’s how I’d style 4 in my closet. The votes were cast and platforms eked out the win, but with luxe fabrics a very close second. And also generous interest in the Spring trench coat, too. So let’s do them all!

Platforms Outfits | Small Fry

NINETIES/AUGHTS — I am the first to criticize this whole movement. Nothing is flattering but you can’t deny the resurgence! But comfort is key, and it could be low rise mini skirts and baby tees, so counting my blessings.

Flatform Clogs (sold out Shein) – Closest option! // Wideleg Jeans – H&M $20  // White T-neck undershirt – Amazon $23 // Sleeveless sweater (old) – Closest option!

LUXE FABRICS — Brocade, Silk, Satin, Embroidered, Jacquard, Boucle, Tweed — all keywords to give you a heightened expensive look. If Iris Apfel x H&M wasn’t sold out, I’d link it all. Some options I couldn’t include in the carousel — This Floral Dress // This Romper // This Skirt // This Fringe Dress

2022 Spring Trends - Platforms

Trench Coat — $60 at Shein — A big trend but not one I thought I’d wear a lot a cheap option was a must. I typically would just go secondhand, thrifted or Poshmark, but couldn’t find anything. This one has a great cut and quality! // Satin Blouse — Zara $36 (I ordered several and kept this one!) // Brocade Mini Skirt — Old Jcrew (I saw a bunch on Poshmark!) // Platform Mules Shein $15

FEMININE — Platforms have the uncanny ability to give a little danger to even the frilliest looks. I resist frill so this is my kinda shoe to help balance.

Dress – $50 H&M // Cream Heels — $40 AliExpress (3 colors so, hard to choose!) The Valentino Garavani platform heel is my favorite shoe of the year, sky high and such a cool silhouette. I have scoured the internet for similars and remembered that’s why I ordered these from China and waited 2 months for delivery. I couldn’t find anything else like them and I am obsessed with these “dupes” just as much.

MOM DUTY — Park, pool, whatever it may be! The platform doesn’t have to be sky high to be on trend.

Denim Cap // Striped Dress // Flatform Sandals // Baggu Cloud Bag this color is “Tomato” I got it at West Elm but its sold out.
