We had to share this darling Winter Party from Twink + Sis before we head out for our Christmas break! This is such a refreshing take on Holiday themes, with bright colors and natural elements. We love it!! Welcome, Marlan!
“My sister and I wanted to create a fun holiday playdate for our kids (Mila, 3 and Brixton, 2) and their friends. Inspired by gold bells, we set out to create a backdrop resembling that look. We came up with a balloon installation made up of huge gold balloons from Koyal Wholesale.
We loved the idea of bringing Christmas trees to the table, so we filled the space with three Noble fir tabletop trees from Mr. Greentrees, dripping in paper ornaments that we DIY’ed.
Our centerpiece is a homemade naked cake (gluten-free pumpkin with cream cheese frosting) topped with sugared fruit (persimmon, pear and grapes) and pine branch.
Meri Meri’s partyware provided the perfect setting with kraft star plates and napkins, accompanied by Santa and reindeer cups with matching straws.
The kids had a blast getting to pop open all the Meri Meri Christmas crackers. We love a little custom element, so each place setting has a pine branch on the plate and a gold pom pom attached to the fork.
We asked the kids to wear their favorite jammies, but not necessarily Christmas jammies, because we wanted it to be fun and cozy without pushing the Christmas theme too far.
The kids did a toddler-friendly pine cone craft, while sipping on hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music.
Every family took home an eeBoo Rabbits’ Den puzzle as their party favor.

So many of you let us know you were on the hunt for a bike for one or more of your kids this Holiday and here’s what we’re suggesting this holiday. Priority Bikes are relatively new to the scene, with a crazy successful Kickstarter only just last year! Based in NYC you’ll see why we love these:
Perhaps the best feature of the “Priority Start” bikes for kids are their tires don’t require air. This innovative style is so great for our kids who rarely want to stop to refill those tires, and who haven’t yet learned to avoid things that could cause a leak. We also tested them in a few different types of scenarios, snowy and dry ground and it did great in both! These bikes are beautiful, light weight, rust-proof and the seat comes with a handle so you can help them as they learn, and easily grab and store when they’re done. This style of bike comes in 4 great colors, too!Another awesome feature is their 30 day no questions asked return policy. Makes the investment feel a lot less daunting when you have that backing it! What is a great bike without the proper helmet? We’ve loved Nutcase helmets since the beginning of time, their options are exactly what we want as parents, and kids think they’re cool too, how often do those stars align? Hayes is wearing an XS in the Little Nutty here and it fits perfectly. Here are some of our favorites from the Little and Baby Nutty lines! Do you have a favorite?
We couldn’t be more obsessed with today’s feature – Happiest Little Baker is flawless as far as we’re concerned! We had to share this idea as soon as we were introduced because we knew it will make such great holiday gift! For those of you who like giving experiences over things, this is for you!
All you do is sign up for their monthly baking kit and wait for the fun to arrive! They send these darling packages filled with pre-measured ingredients and instructions so all you have to do is pre-heat the oven and get your aprons on!
We love how they’re pre-measured in easy containers, so our kids can actually handle this from start to finish and we don’t even need to worry if too much salt ended up in the bowl. This month’s kit is so cute – reindeer peanut butter cookies! With chocolate covered pretzel antlers and festive noses. Our boys are super project driven and of course loved every second of this, and even more so that they, and we, could let them confidently be the boss, or head chef. 😉 Happiest Little Baker is at the top of our gift giving lists this year, such a fun present that keeps on giving and our kids look forward to all month long!

I finally got around to making a Holiday Greeting card holder (since cute ones don’t exist for purchase) and it actually ended up being pretty painless, so I wanted to share! Every year I usually end up washi-taping the cards up on the wall somehow, but so many of the cards we get are great on front AND back so I wanted them to be easy access all season long without damaging them! That is where this DIY came to be. Each shelf has grooves so the cards settle right on top but are easy to take on and off.All you need is a trip to a hardware store for pine hobby board ($5), wood glue ($7) and some colonial wall trim ($9). This trim (shown right) has deep grooves so the cards rest without sliding. We got three pieces of three feet long trim and one plank of hobby board (3 feet tall as well!) Then just cut the trim down so each shelf gets longer and longer creating that festive pine tree look. Glued them in place and let it dry completely. We did 9 inches between each shelf which fits all our cards so far!You can easily nail it to the wall or rest it against the wall if you want something less permanent. Mine is resting on the floor unaffixed and has passed the bulldozer aka Cal Frame test, which is vigorous.Since it’s unfinished it’s a super quick paint job if you want it to match decor or have a pop of color. This one took less than an hour and about $20!

The Christmas waiting game is torture for our kids so we’ve been trying to come up with things for them to do each day to help them help us get ready for the Holidays. This is a super easy project they can do, and fast too! We made a few extra to take to friends, too. Here’s what you’ll need:–HERSHEY’S KISSES Santa Hat Chocolates (exclusively at Target, so head there! Or buy now!)
-Red string or twine
–Edible glue Now all you need to do is let your kids dab a dot of glue onto the bottom of the HERSHEY’S KISSES Santa Hat Chocolates, and a dab of glue onto the mini marshmallow, sandwich the string between the two and let it dry! A perfectly sweet treat to share, and a memory made. How cute is that “HO! HO! HO!” plume? If you need more DIY ideas for these darling Santa Hats check for #SantaHatKisses around the web!

Another gift idea we love to gift the kids (and their cousins and friends) is a beautiful coloring book! It’s such a great activity to do while they’re out of school and there are so many beautiful options!Paris, of course. //Drawings from some of our favorite bands! // We love the idea of showing our kids the world but letting them decide how it should look. London, too! // NYC like a real New Yorker // Patrick Hruby art book – with guides to show just how colorful and intricate it can be, or of course color in your own style. Eye Spy style treasure hunt you can color! // Alexander Girard‘s black and white line drawings – made colorful by you! // Doodlers Anonymous is filled with 90 drawings from contemporary artists from around the globe, their doodlers make our masterpieces. We love this one! // Educate your kids about the best time (in our opinion) for art and decor – the Midcentury! // One more Paris.

Next up in our guide to holiday gifts is pajamas! It’s a tradtion we all grew up with and passed onto our families, and we just can’t help it, honestly. Is there anything sweeter than seeing your kids sleepy-eyed padding down the hall in their matching festive sleepwear? Nope.
Here’s what we’re eyeing this year:
We discovered Garnet Hill this year and are dying over their classic pajama styles. This stripe flannel is so perfect!
All our kids have different levels of being clothed at night. Some are just in undies, some like to be extra toasty. If your kid is the latter, these micro fleece PJs will be just right.
A little less warmth than the fleece but still lots of coverage – these two piece cotton sets (polar bears!) or zip front sleepers are so cute. And we love the green stripe.
Gap’s pretty hand painted patterns and bold graphics are calling our name, too.
Kickee Pants comes in so many awesome colors you can fit any color scheme you need. If your kids haven’t tried these out, this is the year. Try festive red or a more Wintry color for post-Holiday longevity.
Our kids love their slippers and we couldn’t help but fawn over these A Andreassen pairs. Made with felt and leather these are so well made and we love the woven effect.
We’ll be back next week with more gift guides! But find all of our past guides right here.
Is Christmas really almost here?! I can’t help but compound both Lolly’s first Christmas and first birthday soon thereafter. My emotions are so close to the surface on this one! Spending so many months aching, wishing for, and then anticipating her arrival, each milestone while she’s here breaks my heart a little more! How is time going so fast when it felt so slow before she came? Since my family and I will be visiting my family in Turkey this holiday, I wanted to share our Christmas card early. Earlier than I’ve even mailed them, so you sweet readers get an extra special sneak peek! We made these with Shutterfly for those of you still on the hunt for your perfect card!I’m not sure if it’s having the new baby we all waited for, or that she’s the only girl for her two brothers, but the last eleven months she has been absolutely cherished. Every waking moment someone is loving on her, admiring her, cooing at her, kissing her cheeks. Her every achievement has been cheered on by these loving faces. We feel so lucky to have her! Since we’ll be spending lots of Holiday time away from home we are really trying to make each element of the holidays family-oriented. Making memories here in California, too! Usually I stay up late into the night prepping cards, but this year we brought out the hot chocolate and warm cookies and we all stuffed envelopes and signed cards together! We picked this Bright Bokeh card and it goes so beautifully with the Sunset family photo we wanted to send out! Not exactly sure if it took more time or less with these extra helping hands, but they loved it! We’ve used Shutterfly in years past and I am always so pleased with the quality and attention to detail. With so many beautiful options to choose from and customize, everything feels so unique and special! I especially loved that you can search for specific design details you are looking for like cursive script (see all their script options here!) or by color. This is sure to be an amazing Christmas, even more so with this little Lady’s eyes to see it all for the first time!
