Stains 101

Our next stop with our amazing Maytag (remember the one that holds 22 towels?) washer and dryer is STAIN REMOVAL! Having a working knowledge of the best ways to get stains out of clothes makes us feel like superheroes. Like, we’re really doing this mom/adult thing, and we’re rocking at it. It helps to have the right tools on hand and here’s what we suggest for our STAINS 101!First, make sure your washer and dryer are doing the best work for your stain. This washer has our favorite options for stains, a deep-fill setting and a PowerWash® agitator. The deep-fill is … Read more

Modern Valentine Printable

By Emily. Hayes has just now hit the age where he doesn’t want to appear to “like” girls. He has lots of darling little girl-friends, but for sure lets me know that is where it ends. So, we had to make him a Valentine this year that keeps things nice and professional. No funny business.  He’s not one to lead any babes on, which I can respect. Anyway, the printable download is below if you dig it an need something easy for your own Valentine celebrations! SUCKERS // WASHI

Laundry Schedule

This post is brought to you by Maytag, all opinions expressed are our own. By Emily. I think it’s safe to say for the majority of you readers (and us) laundry is a nemesis. The least favorite household task, the never-ending, nagging, particular and finicky job of keeping our family’s clothing clean. What if your washer or dryer could fit infinitely more laundry than it does now. How about 22 towels in one load? I just got butterflies. Exhibit A: 22 Towels:Maytag’s new top loading Washer and Dryer is the largest capacity washer with agitator in the market. It has an … Read more

The Good Table

I truly love the stage my boys are in right now at 4 and 5, but I will tell you: I miss when they were about a year old and ate anything I put in front of them! That high chair stage where you could give them bites of everything on your own plate and they ate so fearlessly and happily. After about 2 1/2 both my boys took 180 degree turns the other way and became ultra choosy about what they would eat. It was a lot of chicken, quesadillas and spaghetti. Luckily, Hayes is grown out of that … Read more

gratitude tree

November is here! As usual we love to instill a sense of gratitude – hopefully all year ’round – but especially throughout November! In preparation for Thanksgiving and the chaos of Christmas and Santa and gift giving, we have found if we don’t focus how much we already have it’s easy to think we need more. That goes for all ages, right? So here’s a quick wall installation that you can add to each month: We did a similar DIY a few years ago but it wasn’t the easiest to execute so we wanted to re-do it in a more … Read more

Mint + Lime Ranch Slaw

We were invited to participate in the Hidden Valley® Challenge aimed at creating a unique and new recipe with these classic American flavors, and all our kids LOVE their classic Original Ranch® flavor, so we knew it would be a piece of cake. We decided to take a twist on our favorite taco condiment, Cilantro-Lime Ranch Dressing & turn it in to a slaw that would make even our kiddos drool over cabbage. Our local store was out of Cilantro so we improvised with Mint and it blew our minds! Here is what you need: 1 Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Dips Mix, 1 Purple & Green … Read more

Last Minute BBQ

By Emily. This Summer has been full of surprises and “make it work” moments for me. Our home has been a constant flux of visitors from friends and family and on more than one occasion I’ve found myself doing last minute prep to feed loved ones. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them all enjoy themselves and feel at home here, so we’ve been extra planful about having the things we need to host comfortably. From ingredients to silverware, seating to fun games, keeping it on hand makes everything feel doable. We’ve talked a few times on Instagram about the HP … Read more

Make Your Own Rainstorm

We have the most amazing local interactive museum that opened earlier this summer called the Museum of Natural Curiosity. We took a tour for their grand opening and the boys talked about it for weeks afterward! We kept hearing that it was packed with excited kids the rest of the summer, so we avoided going even though we were being begged often. Now that school is back in session, we were itching to go again during regular elementary school hours to get another peek with less chaos. Every square inch of the museum is something educational and interactive, and almost all of the exhibitions … Read more
